Polperro Family History Society

The Polperro Family History Society celebrated its eleventh birthday last year with another weekend annual gathering of Polperro family historians, cousins and local residents at the Village Hall in Polperro, in April 2013.

The Society now has over 250 members and has developed a number of projects researching the Polperro families that once lived there. Anyone with Polperro ancestors is particularly welcome to apply for membership and share the benefits of our research and also receive copies of the Society's Journal published twice a year. Last year's event was once again a great success and we look forward to our twelfth anniversary gathering on 12th-13th April 2014.

The AGM for PFHS members was followed by a visit to Sclerder Abbey. A number of individual Polperro family displays by Martin Hipperson were on view, the Society's Projects Officer who has also produced the Polperro Fishermen's Portraits CD.

Members of the Society now have special access to the exclusive Members' Area on this website which include a Message Board for exchanging information and contact details for other members. In addition, the Society publishes a Journal for members twice a year and other booklets relating to Polperro families. The latest issue (No. 23), published in October, contains a number of articles about Polperro families.

Annual membership was set at £10 for individuals, £15 for families (2 adults); £12 and £17 respectively for overseas members. Further information can be obtained from Judith Puckey at the Polperro Heritage Museum.
